About La Colba – Rena di Ponente
The beach of La Colba – Rena di Ponente (Spiaggia Rena Di Ponente) is approximately 400 meters long and faces south-west, featuring beautiful vistas of the rugged coastline of Capo Testa and the deep-blue waters of Baja La Colba. This strip of land connects the coast of the mainlands of Sardinia with the promontory of Capo Testa. The area is uniquely characterized by dunes that extend all the way to the southeastern end of the isthmus. Rena di Ponente is located 700 meters north-west of Santa Reparata beach, near the popular seaside village named Santa Teresa di Gallura, in Olbia-Tempio.
Rena di Ponente is a very popular beach in northern Sardinia and can get crowded during high season. This beach too offers crystal clear waters and white sands, those irresistible features that Sardinian beaches are so famous for. Depending on weather and sea conditions of the Strait of Bonifacio, the beaches in this area of Sardinia are extremely dynamic and subject to very typical seasonal changes. La Colba – Rena di Ponente features a bar and several restaurants in the area. Umbrellas and sun beds can be rent, as well as pedal boats, jet skis, banana boats, and charter boats. Waters here remain shallow for quite a distance, so this beach is suitable for families with children. Occasionally, at dawn or dusk, you can see dolphins playing in the waters nearby. A must-see beach if you happen to be in northern Sardinia.
