About Mugoni Beach
Drive north-west from Alghero for about 15 kilometers, and you’ll discover Mugoni beach (Spiaggia di Mugoni). Popular among the Alghero locals, this spot is one of the lesser known must-see beaches to visit, should you find yourself in this part of the province of Sassari.
The main – and widest – part of Mugoni beach is about 1.5 kilometers long, though the beach continues for a few hundred meters at its outskirts. Almost completely sheltered by thick and cooling pine tree forests, Spiaggia di Mugoni faces south and offers extraordinary views of the headlands of Parco Naturale Regionale di Porto Conte and the mountainous region near the village of Tramariglio, as you can see in the above image.
With crystal clear waters, fine golden sands, plenty of pretty pine forests, and stunning views reminiscent of sceneries one typically finds in Thailand, Mugoni beach could very well become your favorite beach near Alghero.
If you can, do stay until sunset and be mesmerized.
This beach is well equipped: sun loungers and parasols are available for rent, and you will love lounging near the Nimfe bar where you can buy some cold drinks and nibbles to get you through the day. Spiaggia di Mugoni is family-friendly, it’s a great place to stay with your children the entire day.
Highly recommended!
